(17 yr old girl)
Alina was born on March 6, 2001. She has one sister, Petronela, who lives at the Hand of Help Orphanage as well. The children came to Hand of Help in March of 2006 after their parents were being prosecuted for conspiracy to commit a crime. It is very clear that these children's childhood was taken away in an instance.
Alina's life has been given a new future, a hand of help, a place where she can grow, develop and most importantly learn about God and the Salvation He has prepared for us. Early on we realized what a beautiful voice God has given Alina. She often sings and recites poems in our church fellowship. She is dynamic, intelligent and full of life! We pray that she continues to use her talents for praising God. Alina is in the sixth grade and doing well in her studies. She is also involved in many orphanage activities. Four years ago, after being paroled, her mother fled the country and hasn't been in contact with the children since. The father is still serving time. He keeps in touch and writes the girls letters. Until the summer of 2011, they were able to visit him at the local penitentiary, however, he has now been moved to a prison further away.
Though Alina and her sisters aren't in an ideal family setting, we pray that our Hand of Help family fills in the void in their hearts. Please pray for Alina that she stays close to the Lord, for wisdom so that she can keep achieving her academic goals, and that she continues to have a joyful heart, being a light to all those around her.
