(14 yr old girl)
Danusia has been a part of Hand of Help family since 2008. After being found in the stairway of an apartment building where her mother used to find shelter, the local Child Protection Authorities asked us to take her in as an emergency case. Danusia comes from a gypsy family and without having a proper place to live for years, her immune system has been majorly affected. After her admission to our orphanage, she has been treated for acute pneumonia and other various sicknesses due to the lack of care and nutrition.
She is in the 3rd grade now. She is doing well with her studies and moreover, she loves getting involved in day to day activities at the orphanage. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dolls. She also loves singing to our Lord.
This year in May, Danusia met her mother for the first time since 2008. Although she didn't know how to react, Danusia was really happy to spend some time with her mother and understand that she does have a mother even though she is far away.
Danusia's sisters, Andreea (born in 2006) and Lorena (born in 2007) are also a part of the Hand of Help family. They were brought here in 2011 after spending many years in foster care. It is a blessing to see the sisters together and we pray that all the family be reunited!
