Miriam is one of the nine siblings in her family. She has been admitted to our orphanage in December 2005. Her father died while his wife was pregnant with their last child. The family was struggling with poverty and had no one to help them survive. The local church, through their pastor, decided to ask for our help and we were able to welcome Miriam, her four sisters and soon afterwards, their youngest brother, Abel. Their mother tried keeping in touch with them; however after deciding to leave the country to work abroad, the children suffered a lot, missing their motherly bond and having to endure yet another type of abandonment. When she returned to Romania we told her that Abel could no longer stay apart from her, she decided to take her youngest back. We were able to help her rebuild their previous house and make it a proper family environment. Thanks to your support Abel is currently living with his mother. Three of Miriam's sisters have ended graduated high school and are now working either in Romania or abroad, being able to take care of their needs by themselves and being living proof of the difference you are making in the lives of our orphans.
Miriam is currently in the tenth grade and she would really love to be able to go to college. She is studying hard and enjoys reading and drawing. She is also a part of our orchestra, playing the mandolin. Please keep Miriam in your prayers as she struggles day by day to be a better young woman and a model for all the rest of the children, giving thanks to our Lord for everything He has done in her life, but also for all the plans He has for her life.
