Gabriel R

(18 yr old boy) He is no longer in the orphanage. Please consider sponsoring someone else.

About Me

Gabriel and his sister, Stefana, were taken in by the Hand of Help Orphanage in February 2012. At that time, they lived in a house that belonged to their mother's last boyfriend, in an environment hard to fathom. Mud floors, a few wood boards thrown together as a bed, walls stained of smoke, and a room lacking even basic amenities like electricity- this was all that could be provided for them. The only income for the household was the monthly government stipend for the children. Their mother was an uneducated woman who often traveled to neighboring countries to beg.

After she was caught and expelled back to Romania, she sent her children out to beg. Even with sporadic help from the local authorities, the children often went unfed, unclothed, and were not taken care of. The mother could not handle a budget or be self-sufficient, and the children's father was unknown.

It was impossible to provide proper growth, development, and education for the children in their family setting. Therefore, the best option for the children was to be separated from their mother for a season.

Hand of Help agreed to take these children in and, with God's help, provide an environment where they can flourish like they would in a healthy family home.

Years passed, and Gabriel grew up harmoniously before our eyes. He finished school specializing in electrical studies. Being passionate about this field, Gabriel immediately sought employment as an electrician. A company hired him in the western part of Romania. He is enjoying his job and desires to continue improving his skills.

He also loves playing sports and has participated in competitions, including national championships.

Gabriel and Stefana (still at our center) now keep in contact with their mother (currently living abroad). The siblings get along very well.

Thank you for being a part of Gabriel's life. Please lift him up in your prayers as he embarks on this new road. Independent life often poses a lot of challenges, but we know he will be able to navigate all obstacles with the help of our Lord. May the seed planted in his heart bring forth much fruit to the glory of our God!
